The Trump Impeachment

On January 6th, the United States watched as its beloved Capitol fell prey to domestic terrorists. While Congress convened to formally certify Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 election, mobs of Trump-supporting extremists quickly set themselves apart from the gathered citizens concerned with voting integrity to wreak havoc, inciting one of the most horrific insurrections since the Civil War. Some sporting the confederate flag, others in MAGA hats, they all had one thing in common—the encouragement of Donald Trump. Trump’s speech before this Capitol insurrection has been criticized for the role it played in emboldening these American extremists. “You have to show strength, and you have to be strong,” he had said. “We’re going to take what they did to us on Nov. 3. We’re going to take it back.”

Following the uprising, Donald Trump has become the first president to have been impeached twice. He will face the Senate in another trial, though the specific date is yet to be determined. While this is a good step towards accountability, many of those loyal to Trump have verbally expressed their desire to manipulate the forthcoming trial. "I will do everything I can to make it die quickly," said Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham. You can urge your senators to commit to a fair, honest trial here:
